Jackson

18th July 2019

Jackson and his wife support their family by subsistence farming on their small shamba (or field), and also by manually digging out tree roots. They have two sons with learning difficulties and they have been struggling with painful and recurring Jigger infections of the feet. Jiggers thrives in the mud floors and is strongly associated with poverty, where people cannot afford shoes and water is scarce. Fortunately Jackson’s family receive free health treatment under the Social Policy at Buburi Clinic and Rosemary, their Community Health Volunteer was pleased to report that the Jiggers had greatly improved with the daily washing and soaking of their feet in water over a period of two weeks.
