This new building is almost finished. Once it is completed the women around the clinic will be able to give birth in relative safety. In Western Kenya the majority of women still give birth in their homes which puts them at a tremendous disadvantage and the statistics for infant and maternal mortality is much higher than in the rest of Kenya. This facility will hopefully address some of those disadvantages and reduce the shocking statistics. It has been built by donations from the public but also with generous support from the Gro Company gro.co.uk, based in Exeter who are also supporting the staff and equipment for the new building. A big Thank You to everyone at Gro Co from the future mothers and babies of Buburi.
